Dr. Dev Ratnam

After graduating from the famous Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in Engineering, Ratnam got Masters in Engineering from Queens University, Canada and Ph.D. in Solid State Science from Penn State Universityin 1971. Worked as Manager of Magnetics Research at Colt Industries, obtained two patents and was a leader in Permanent Magnet Research publishing in scientific journals as well as chairing a Magnetics Researchconference. Always an entrerpreneur at heart, planned to return to India and to start a manufacturing plant with his technical background in India - plans did not materialize.

Dr. J. Ganesh Bhat, M.D.

Dr. J. Ganesh Bhat, M.D. holds medical and post graduate degrees from Mysore Medical College and KasturbaMedical College in India and completed fellowship in nephrology at New York University as well as New YorkState Kidney Disease Institute. He has been principal investigator and co-investigator on numerous researchprojects related to kidney diseases and is well published in several peer reviewed medical journals. He is a diplomateof the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Internal Medicine in Nephrology.

In doing so, he has opened dialogue and planted the seeds of friendship and understanding amongst diverse communities throughout the New York Metropolitan area. Mr. Taneja, a proud Indian American, was appointed by Supervisor Hon' Jon Kaiman in North Hempstead Government in 2010, and is currently working as the Director of Outreach Initiatives.
