Himanshu Pandya, MD

Dr Himanshu Pandya currently is the PRESIDENT ELECT of AAPIQLI – American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin, Queens-Long Island for the year 2018. Dr. Pandya was the Chairperson of the annual Convention, AAPIQLI held in 2015 in New York. He was also Co-chair of the membership committee of AAPI (An organization with close to 100,000 member physicians) in 2015.

He was an executive committee member of Diabetes Expo by American Diabetic Association at Jacob Javitz Convention Center, 2013 and 14. More than 8000 registrations per event. He is also currently a president of 256-257 Hillside Avenue homeowners Association from 2015.

On a social front, Dr. Pandya is an executive member of health committee for Gujarati Samaj of New York, 2012 to present and has served as a chairperson of Milan Senior citizen program runs by Herricks Indo-US and committed 4 hours (10 AM -2 PM) of voluntary service every Friday for two years. He is a chairman of South Asian diabetes Expo organizes Diabetes health fairs for the South Asian community. He has not only selflessly conducted Numerous Community Programs and Health Fairs but also provided Pro Bono Medical Advice to the Community at large at these Health Fairs.

Hofstra University honored Dr. Pandya as a part of their Suburban Diversity program in November 2017.

Professionally, he is a Medical Director of a 400 beds nursing home in Queens. He was awarded a teaching excellence award at the Lutheran hospital medical center. He has published many articles in health journals. He is a founder of SPARK Club of New York. SPARK (Social, Positive, Athletic, Responsible, Kids) club is a club for kids and parents of Indian origin from Queens and Long Island. SPARK is a family- oriented group engaging in a variety of kids related activities such as sports, critical thinking, college prep, etc. He is affiliated with Northwell (North Shore University and LIJ hospitals) and Mount Sinai Health System.

Dr. Pandya is the Co-Owner of Social adult day care center in Long Island, NY and he is in Private practice with the office in Queens, NY.

His passion is to combine Ayurveda with modern medicine to bring positive synergistic effect in today’s medicine. He is a founder of Slim and Smile USA and working on herbal medications for safe weight loss since the last ten years.

He lives in Roslyn with his wife Dipali, who is a dentist and son Aadi, a freshman at the Herricks high school and an author of two children’s books.
